A Solr-supplied Apache Tomcat is used as the Web Server for the Visualizer Search Results page, and dynamic web pages are produced in the Visualizer Search Page using Java™.
Metadata imported into Visualizer is stored in a Solr repository as XML. As an open-source repository, Solr complies with the Open Archives Initiative (OAI), a protocol that operates independently of proprietary applications and that allows for system interoperability.
