VTLS renews ISO 9001:2008 Certification

VTLS Inc. is pleased to announce its approval by the British Standards Institute (BSI) for the latest revision of the ISO 9000 standard, ISO 9001:2008. To achieve this recertification, BSI conducted an intensive three-day audit of the processes and procedures in place at VTLS to verify compliance to the ISO standard. VTLS has held continuous ISO 9000 certification since 1997.

At VTLS, the ISO 9000 certification means each step of the software design and development process is tightly controlled and consistently applied. Because VTLS procedures are defined with customers in mind, ultimately this means that customers play more of a role in the design process of the software. In addition, the quality of the software is improved through the reduction of bugs and customer feedback becomes paramount to the decisions made by management in setting the future direction of the products.

Additionally, VTLS holds the UKAS TickIT certification, which was adopted specifically for use in the information technology industries. To meet customers’ quality expectations, software suppliers need to define and implement a quality system, which covers all the essential business processes in the product life cycle, including contract review, design control, development, testing, installation and support. TickIT guides the company to achieve this objective within the framework of ISO 9000.

“Our continuous focus on software excellence is evident through our ISO 9000 certification. We place a high value on the quality of both the software and the services that we provide and this independent certification is proof of that commitment” says Cecilia M. Yourshaw, Vice President of Operations for VTLS Inc.

VTLS selected the British Standards Institution (BSI) as their registrar because of BSI’s long history as a registrar—BSI was the world’s first registrar and to date over 30,000 organizations in 64 countries have chosen BSI as their preferred registrar to ISO 9000.
