For Immediate Release
Blacksburg, VA - VTLS is proud to announce the first release of the company's latest product, Visualizer. Version 1.0 of Visualizer is now in general release and available for all customers.
VTLS' Visualizer is a powerful, comprehensive Web-based tool used to expose the entire contents of your library catalog, institutional repository, or other target system, allowing patrons greater access to more materials. With VISUALIZER, patron searches are not simply limited probes of a collection, but total exposure. Visualizer gives patrons a one-stop destination for resource discovery of both local and distributed content. Through faceted searching, patrons are empowered to discover more than ever before, without the need for professional search expertise.
Visualizer software makes it possible to search all of your institution's in-house and remote electronic resources in one place. By storing only metadata about your collection, Visualizer is able to almost instantaneously search and provide results found in the contents of any collection of electronic datasuch as an ILS like Virtua or a digital repository like VITALas well as external electronic data sources. Visualizer then provides a way for the user to access these full data sources with a single click.
VTLS is preparing a test database and already has Visualizer's documentation including the User's Guide, System Administration Guide and Interface Customization Guide available for customers on the VTLS Web site.
Please stop by booth 1704 at ALA Mid-Winter in Philadelphia for a demo of Visualizer.
